DEAR SUN SPOTS READERS: LA Arts would like your shoes! We are looking for canvas shoes of any size, color or condition. They will be used for an installation in one of our upcoming art walks.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I need your help and the help of your wonderful readers. I am a certified employment specialist in the L-A area working in conjunction with Common Ties Mental Health Services. I assist people in recovery from mental health issues who are returning to work.

I am organizing a fundraiser/motorcycle run on June 29 to raise money that will be used to purchase bus passes or cab rides for people returning to work ONLY until they get their first paycheck.

The event starts at 12 Bates St. and ends at the Water Street Grill in Gardiner.

The event is a donation-only event. There is no registration fee for riders; the idea is to bring awareness to the cause while generating a small pool of money that can be accessed when needed for initial transportation to and from work.

Where I need help is in finding a caricature artist who would be interested in doing caricature drawings at the ending point, Water Street Grill. If someone knows how I can get in touch with a local artist with this skill, please let me know.

We are also hoping to raise money by raffling donated items that have been generously donated by many local businesses. I would like to have a few vendors at the event as well.

This event will be videotaped by Ridin Steel and be televised. Anyone involved will be recognized and receive a free advertisement.

Thank you and your lovely readers in advance. And if anyone would like to know more about the event, Common Ties or Ridin Steel, I would love to talk to you. — Patricia Salvatore, pstuart45@yahoo.com, 207-650-6195

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Many years ago, I lost my Mexico High School Class of 1975 ring. It was a size 9 man’s gold class ring, made by the LG Balfour Co., with a blue stone, and it had my initials, BAW, and Mexico High School engraved on it.

If anyone has this ring or has seen this ring, I’d really appreciate having it back, no questions asked. Thank you. — Bruce Wotton, bruceomega@hotmail.com
