Service theme: Mother’s Day
NORWAY — Rev. Fayre Stephenson, minister of The First Unitarian Universalist Church of Norway, will give a Mother’s Day-themed service at 11 a.m. Sunday, May 12, at the church, 479 Main St.
Like May Day, Mother’s Day has had an interesting and varied history through the centuries. Julia Ward How, a Unitarian and writer of the “Battle Hymn of the Republic,” wanted the day to be a Mothers’ Peace Day. This service will take stock of how we may regard Mother’s Day and mothering today.
Childcare is provided and social hour follows the service.
