Texas hold’em at Lions Club

HARRISON — The Harrison Lions Club will hold a Texas hold’em tournament from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 6, at the VFW Hall, 176 Waterford Road.

The entry fee is $80. There is a 100-player limit. Doors open at 11:30 a.m.

Mandala art to be topic

BRYANT POND — Jennifer Locke will be the guest speaker at the Whitman Memorial Library at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 11. Locke will be talking about Mandala art.

Her work is currently on display at the library. She will give a hands-on lesson on this circular form of art. The program is open to the public at no charge and light refreshments will be served.

Locke’s work may be viewed during library hours, 1 to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Fire Dept. Aux. plans supper

PARIS — The Paris Fire Department Auxiliary will hold a public supper at 6 p.m. Friday, April 12, at the Paris Fire Department, Western Avenue. All proceeds from the supper will be donated to Responsible Pet Care.

Menu will be spaghetti pie, salad, bread and dessert. Adults $8, ages 4-12 $4, ages 3 and under free.

There will be many raffles as well as a 50/50 raffle.

Honey Bee club workshop

PARIS — Oxford Hills Honey Bee Club’s workshop will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 13, at the Oxford County Extension Center, 9 Olson Road.

Speaker is Maine State Bee Inspector, Tony Jadcazk, on the topic of getting bees ready for spring and problems with disease. The public is welcome.

Swingin’ Bears dance April 13

PARIS — The Swingin’ Bears Square Dance Club announces that on Saturday, April 13, from 7 to 10 p.m., Kip and Linda Moulton of Scarborough will team up as caller and cuer for the square dancing and round dancing. The dance will be held as usual in the cafeteria at the Oxford Hills Middle School, 100 Pine St.

Refreshments are always served at intermission with door prizes and a Pot O’ Gold drawing. Admission $6 per person. Non-dancers are welcome at no charge.
