AARP chapter meeting, lunch
PARIS — The Oxford Hills Chapter of AARP will meet on Monday, March 11, at the First Congregational Church on East Main Street.
Lunch will be served at noon and include ham with macaroni and cheese. The cost is $6.50 and reservations are required by calling Ruth at 744-9069 by Friday, March 8.
The business meeting will begin at 1 p.m. The program will be a presentation by Pat Verrill with all the best advice from the Farmers Market.
Holy Savior plans fish fry
RUMFORD — The Holy Savior Fish Fry will take place Friday, March 8, from 4 p.m. until gone, at St. Athanasius & St. John Church Hall.
Menu will be fresh fried fish, snowflake potatoes, homemade cole slaw, homemade macaroni and cheese, homemade rolls, homemade dessert and drink/coffee. Cost is $9 adult, $7 under 12, kids under 3 eat free.
Founder’s Day vendors sought
PARIS — The Hamlin Memorial Library & Museum is accepting vendor applications for the annual Founder’s Day event which will take place on Saturday, July 20.
Spaces are 20-foot by 20-foot and are $30. Craft vendors interested in renting a space should call 207-743-2980 or email athamlinstaff@hamlin.lib.me.us with questions or to request a vendor application.
Masonic Lodge ham dinner
NEW SHARON — A ham dinner will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, March 9, at the Masonic Lodge Hall, Route 2.
The meal includes raisin sauce, mashed potatoes, peas, baby carrots, hot rolls, apple sauce, pies, tea and coffee.
The cost is $8 for adults, $6 for children, and free for under 5 years.

Ecumenical meal aids heat fund
RANGELEY — The annual Ecumenical Soup/Bread/Desserts supper will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 10, at the Episcopal church undercroft. Proceeds from the community meal will be used to provide fuel assistance to local residents.
This will be an opportunity to select from 12 homemade soups (three from each church), eight breads (two from each church) and a selection of desserts, all for $5 for adults and $2 for children.
The Church of the Good Shepherd is at 2614 Main St.
Author to speak on adoption
BRYANT POND — Carol Lillieqvist Welsh will be the guest speaker at the Whitman Memorial Library at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 14. The program is open to the public at no charge and light refreshments will be served.
An adoptee, birth mother and adoptive mother, Welsh’s mission is to shine light on human strength and resilience, raise awareness of the complexities of adoption and inspire artistic design and the written word through her jewelry and her book, “360 Square.”
She has degrees in psychology and human relations and is an experienced expert in the field of adoption. She is a member of the Maine Writers and Publisher Alliance, the American Adoption Congress, Concerned United Birthparents and a supporter of Camp to Belong in Maine. She lives in Norway.
Pancakes, maple sugaring
LIVERMORE — A pancake breakfast and old-time maple sugaring are planned for 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, March 24, at The Washburn-Norlands Living History Center, 290 Norlands Road
The cost is $6/$8 for pancakes and sausage; otherwise the event is free.
In celebration of Maine Maple Sunday, the 19th-century living history farm will serve pancakes and sausage in the historic farmer’s cottage. Sap boiling demonstrations take place in the sugar house. Visitors can help tap trees and collect sap.
Meet the schoolmarm in the one-room schoolhouse. Bring snowshoes or sleds and enjoy the 445 acres at the National Historic Site.

Wrestling aids baseball program
PARIS — A unique professional wrestling event to benefit local youth baseball players is planned for Friday, March 15, at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School, 256 Main St.
Fans of this mat mayhem will get a rare opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the biggest television wrestling legends and see amazing in-ring action. Six-time World Champion Kevin Nash will make his Big Time Wrestling debut.
Nash, who has also starred in several motion pictures, will be just one of the stars available for autographs and photos before the action packed wrestling card. Joining Nash will be WWE legend Ron Simmons, the first ever African-American World Champion; and Chris Mordetzky, formerly known as “The Masterpiece.” In addition, all the stars of Big Time Wrestling, including the BTW Divas.
The fan meet and greet begins at 6 p.m. and first match begins at 7:30.
