Guest speaker at First U.

PARIS — The First Universalist Church on Pine Street will have Sharon Bouchard as the guest speaker at their 10 a.m. worship service on Sunday, March 3. Bouchard’s sermon topic is “A Rose In The Wintertime.”

Music is under the direction of Linda Stowell and Sunday School is under the direction of Renee Wales. Fellowship, coffee and conversation will follow the service and all are welcome. Childcare is available and the First Universalist Church is wheelchair accessible.

Topic will be power of words

NORWAY — Join the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Norway at 11 a.m. Sunday, March 10, as the Rev. Sue Gabrielson speaks on “The Power of the Word.”

Many religious traditions have been founded on the power of the written or spoken word. How do we define the words? Can we ever agree? Do words unite or divide us?

Gabrielson will discuss these and other questions about the words we use in religious traditions. The church is at 479 Main St. Religious Education and childcare are provided and social hour follows the service.
