Church sermon on body image

NORWAY — Join the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Norway at 11 a.m. Sunday, March 3, as the Rev. Fayre Stephenson offers a sermon about body image and the religious traditions contributing to discontent with our physical selves.

Stephenson has been serving the church for several months and recently joined as the Called Minister. Stephenson has previously been program director at Ferry Beach and minister of the Foxborough Universalist Church in Massachusetts. The church is at 479 Main St. Religious Education and childcare are provided and social hour follows the service.

BRIDGTON — The Bridgton Community Center has provided Bridgton residents with emergency fuel since 2007. The support for the 2012-13 program has come from donations from a caring and generous public and funds from a Community Development Block Grant.

From November 2012 through February 2013 the BCC Collaborative has served 43 Bridgton families who were not eligible for general assistance. The BCC Fuel Collaborative will no longer be accepting applications for assistance for the 2012-13 heating season.

The Bridgton Community Center is grateful to all who have contributed and entrusted the BCC Fuel Collaborative with the administration of this program. Contributions to the BCC Fuel Collaborative may be sent to Bridgton Community Center, 15 Depot St., Bridgton, ME 04009. Contributions are tax deductible.

West Paris food pantry

WEST PARIS — The food pantry will be open from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, at West Paris Baptist Church, 15 Church St. The pantry is open the first and third Tuesday of each month.

PARIS — American Legion Post 72 will have two inside yard sales. The first will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 9, and the second on April 6.

Training for dementia care

FARMINGTON/PARIS — SeniorsPlus has announced Savvy Caregiver training scheduled to begin on Mondays, March 11, in Franklin and Oxford counties. This training will help people caring for a family member with dementia to learn how to take care of themselves, reduce stress and communicate more easily with their loved one.

This is a six-week workshop, with each session lasting two hours. Following are the locations and times:

Franklin Memorial Hospital, 111 Franklin Health Commons, Farmington, Mondays from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. starting March 11.

DHHS, 243 Main St., Suite 6, South Paris, Mondays from 2 to 4 p.m. starting March 11.
