AUBURN — Michael A. Koch of Auburn has joined the Androscoggin Historical Society board of directors.

He has worked as a marketing manager and supervisor, broadcast technician and commercial designer and currently is a production assistant at the Franco-American Heritage Center.

Koch’s background includes employment as marketing, promotions and fulfillment coordinator at Futureguard Building Products Inc., Auburn; senior technician for the University College Distance Education System at the University of Maine, Augusta; production supervisor at Konica Quality Photo East in Scarborough and Fuji TruColor in Salt Lake City, Utah; film processor at Portland Photographics; and arts and crafts teacher at the Boys and Girls Club of Auburn/Lewiston.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.

Community activities include fundraising with the Lewiston/Auburn Independence Day Committee, coaching children in Auburn Parks and Recreation flag football, and acting and stage management in several Community Little Theater productions. He was curator for an exhibit of vintage photographs of area performance halls displayed in the theater lobby.

Androscoggin Historical Society President David Colby Young welcomed Koch to the board. “With his varied background Mr. Koch will provide a great deal of valuable experience to the organization,” he said.
