BANGOR — U.S. Attorney Thomas E. Delahanty II sentenced an Industry man to 33 months in prison and three years of supervised release for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

According to a Department of Justice press release, Paul J. Brackett, 40, of Industry pleaded guilty Sept. 18 to felony firearms charges.

The release stated that on Feb. 7, 2012, wardens from the Maine Warden Service responded to a report of a vehicle off the road in Eustis and that the operator had left the scene.

Nearby, wardens found Brackett carrying a loaded Glock .45-caliber handgun. Wardens also found an AR-15 rifle in the back seat, loaded with a 30-round magazine. Close to the rifle was a vest with extra magazines and ammunition.

A search of the vehicle’s trunk revealed a .22-caliber rifle and several rounds of .22-caliber ammunition.

Brackett was prohibited from possessing a firearm due to two felony convictions.

A breath test performed by wardens revealed that Brackett had a blood alcohol concentration of .26 at the time of arrest, more than three times the legal limit.
