DUV group to meet Dec. 5
NORWAY — The Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War 1861-1865 Hannah F. Richardson Tent 19 will meet at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, at the home of Marilyn Jones.
Second nominations will be held. Members are asked to bring four small gifts to fill stockings for disabled members.
Seven members were present for the Nov. 28 meeting. The first nomination of officers was held. Mystery prize was won by Sylvia Grover.
Holiday fest, craft fair Dec. 8
PARIS — The second annual holiday festival and craft fair will be held from 9 a.m to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at Paris Elementary School, off High Street.
There will be local crafters and vendors, wreath sales, children’s book fair, Santa’s workshop for kids and food.

Sons of Legion craft fair Dec. 22
OXFORD — The Sons of the American Legion will host a fundraiser and craft fair from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, at the Anderson Staples American Legion Post 112, Skeet Field Road and Route 121.
Homemade crafts and baked goods will be on sale. Proceeds will benefit Girl Scout Troops 1111 and 2233.

‘Second Place’ is sermon title
PARIS — “Second Place” is the title of Silver Moore-Leamon’s sermon Dec. 9 at The First Universalist Church on Pine Street. The music of the 10 a.m. worship service is under the direction of organist Donna Hurd and Sunday School is under the direction of Renee Wales.
Coffee and fellowship will follow the service and all are welcome. Childcare is available and the church is wheelchair accessible.
Ledgeview Christmas sale
WEST PARIS — The Ledgeview Living Center’s annual Christmas sale will take from from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 12 and 13, and from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, Dec. 14.
Proceeds will benefit the Ledgeview Activity Department. Donations are appreciated.
Open house at pet shelter, shop
NORWAY — A Christmas Open House at Responsible Pet Care Shelter & Adoption and Pawsibilities Thrift Shoppe, 132 Waterford Road, will take place from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15.
There will be door prizes, raffles and refreshments, as well as cats, kittens and dogs for adoption. Donations for the animals’ Santa box will be accepted. For information call 743-8670.
Jones Dance Band plays at Legion
PARIS — A dance with music by Jones Dance Band will take place from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturdays, Dec. 15, 22 and 29, at the American Legion Hall, Church Street. The cost is $5.
Honey Bee Club potluck party
PARIS — Oxford Hills Honey Bee Club potluck holiday party will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at the Oxford County Extension Center, 9 Olson Road.
