Like many members of Generation X, I have had a pessimistic view of politicians in general. That is, until I was fortunate enough to get to know my state senator, Lois Snowe-Mello, and my state representative, Ellie Espling.

It is truly refreshing to have leaders who serve selflessly and don’t use their political connections for personal gain.

After many discussions, I have found that the strength of character of these women is remarkable. I attended the New Gloucester state Senate candidate forum and was impressed with Snowe-Mello’s compassionate and intelligent solutions to the problems Mainers face.

The two women have been working together for the past two years to put Maine’s fiscal house in order and benefit all of us on the state’s journey to a thriving economy. I will support these exceptional women for re-election.
