LEWISTON — The Lewiston CareerCenter, 5 Mollison Way, announces September workshops of note, in addition to its regular programming:
Sept. 6 from 9 a.m.- noon: “HR Experts” — a group of four human resource professionals will talk about resumes, applications, cover letters, interviews and the job search process from an HR perspective.
Sept. 11 from 10 a.m.-noon: Dollars and Sense: Budget Overhaul for tough times. In this two-hour workshop, we will discuss the basic components for building a budget, including money tracking, categorizing expenses, ways to save and cut back, and short-term financial goal-setting. This workshop will be presented by Maine Centers for Women, Work, and Community. To register, call Laurie at 753-6612.
Sept. 17 from 9 .m.-noon: A job fair will be held at the CareerCenter with more than 30 employers who are hiring to recruit for their open positions. Come prepared with your resume and dressed like you are going for an interview. Spanish and Somali interpreters will be available.
Sept. 20 from 9 a.m.-noon: Expanding Your Professional Network on Linkedin Professional Networking Services — a Recruiters Perspective! Paul P. Mosley, president of Penobscot Executive Search, a recruiting and placement agency, will give suggestions on making your profile more marketable and will give criteria for using groups.
Job search skills offered in Spanish will take place on Sept. 17 from 1-3:30 p.m. To register, call 753-9005.
