Bocce games to kick off

RUMFORD — Bocce will begin on Thursday, June 7, at 6 p.m. on the courts in back of the Sons of Italy hall in Smithcrossing. All are welcome to play.

Donations for Family Center

RUMFORD — Curves is hosting a monthly donation drive to benefit Rumford Family Center. Curves will be collecting nonperishable food products, hygiene and cleaning supplies. For the month of June, any woman who donate a box of diapers who wishes to join Curves will receive half off of their sign-on fee.

Yard sale rain date

RUMFORD — Due to the inclement weather on June 2, the Rumford Historical Society was forced to delay its annual yard sale until Saturday, June 9.

Anticipating that the weather will cooperate this Saturday, the society will have its usual large variety of perennial and annual plants for sale; yard sale items, along with a few pieces of furniture; and a bake sale table of goodies. This year, the society is adding the sale of Barker’s Steamed Hot Dogs, bottled water and popcorn so people can browse over the lunch hour.

RUMFORD — A bereavement group for parents who have lost children will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, June 11, in room 302A of Mountain Valley High School. Use the front entrance, past the library on the left.
