The field trip was open to students who had maintained high attendance and demonstrated positive behavior. Twenty five students had a picnic lunch of pizza  and ice cream.

Students were provided individual tours by park staff, learning about wildlife that is present in Maine today and the history and evolution of the state. By holding bones, antlers and furs, students were able to learn about how the animals survive and thrive in the environment.
