LISBON FALLS — The Androscoggin-Sagadahoc Counties Extension Association will host a plant sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 26, at the University of Maine Cooperative Extension Office, 24 Main St.
Most of the plants and other goods offered for sale have been donated by participants in the local UMaine Extension Master Gardener Volunteers program. Proceeds will be used to help support operations of the county office, which offers programming in agriculture, horticulture, 4-H youth development, nutrition education and more.
The Master Gardener Volunteers program offers research-based horticultural education, teaching local residents about the art and science of growing plants and healthy gardening practices. Graduates of the program volunteer with educational projects in the community in order to maintain their Master Gardener Volunteer status.
Plants available for purchase will include vegetables, herbs, shrubs and flowers. There will be several master gardener volunteers on hand to assist with selections. If there is a specific plant you are searching for, send an email request to asceasale@yahoo.com.
