LIVERMORE — A Wilton woman was injured Monday afternoon after her car went off Route 4, rolled over a couple of times and hit trees and rocks along the way, Maine State Police Trooper Tyler Stevenson said.
According to witnesses, it appeared the 2000 Subaru Outback driven by Josline Dubois, 40, was speeding just north of the Boothby Road, also known as Route 108, which is about a half-mile from Sitting Bull and near a sharp left corner in the road, he said.
Possibly because of speed, the vehicle drifted to the right and got into the shoulder and when she tried to correct it, the car went into an uncontrollable skid to the left, rolled over and came to rest on its wheels, Stevenson said.
“It was a serious crash,” he said, adding that Dubois was lucky. She complained of pain and was taken by a NorthStar Emergency Medical Services ambulance to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.
The accident was reported at 2:25 p.m. The northbound lane of Route 4 was shut down for an hour. Trees had to be cut down to get the vehicle back on the road. The vehicle was damaged beyond repair, he said. Livermore firefighters assisted Stevenson at the scene.
