MEXICO — Two more thefts from unlocked vehicles were reported this week, along with two home burglaries.

Police Lt. Roy Hodson believes the vehicle thefts reported over the past several weeks are related. The department has several leads but has not made arrests.

* A Whitman Street woman reported at 8:51 a.m. March 17 that someone entered her unlocked vehicle, forced open the glove box and caused $150 damage. The thief took $160 cash from the glove box.

* On March 14, a Kimball Avenue man reported at 11:20 a.m. that someone entered his pickup truck overnight and forced open the console, causing $150 damage. A $300 pager was stolen.

Burglaries

* A Chase Avenue resident reported at 12:46 a.m. March 18 that someone forced open a side door to his home, causing $100 damage. Taken were a laptop computer, television and safe, valued at $1,600.

* An employee of the Free Store on Roxbury Road reported at 8:24 a.m. March 16 that someone forcibly entered the building through the side door and took an undisclosed amount of change.

Arrest

* Charles Jobin, 57, of Roxbury Road, on a charge of operating under the influence, second offense, at 4:30 p.m. March 17 on Summit Street. He was released from the Rumford Police Department on $300 cash bail. He is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on May 8.

Theft

* A Carlton Avenue resident reported at 8:25 p.m. March 14 that she saw two young men taking four tires valued at $200 from her yard.
