FARMINGTON — The Franklin County Soil and Water Conservation District will hold a public auction on Thursday, March 22, at the WG Mallett School off Middle Street. Pick up a bid paddle or register starting at 5:15 p.m. during the viewing period. The auction will commence at 6.
The auction is being held to raise funds to help with agricultural and environmental programs such as the Ag/Environmental Day at the Farmington Fair, Conservation Field Day and the Regional Envirothon competition as well as adult programs.
Individuals and businesses throughout the greater Franklin County area have donated items, gift cards and certificates for the auction, such as snowshoes, motor oil, baked goods, clothing and pillow, wine and cheese baskets, furniture, plant stands, framed and matted paintings and prints, butter, beauty products, ceramic and other apple design accessories, ceiling fan, maple syrup, hydraulic oil and a box of cash.
There will be gift cards and certificates for items and businesses for things such as hair cuts, heating fuel, books, tax preparation, train ride, ski lift tickets, motel and cabin stays, photo sessions, dentists, vet, plants, general merchandise, gas, dining and food-to-go items, canoeing, wood chips, compost, mulch, gravel, lumber, strawberries, wood pellets, newspaper subscription, a full energy audit, will preparation, movie passes, a half-day forestry walk and talk, Angus ground beef, garden center and green house and home heating oil.
Call 778-4279 to sign up for a bid number by Tuesday, March 20, and be placed in the drawing box for a door prize.
