Odd Fellows of Maine purchased a house on Cleaves Street next to their Grand Lodge building on Caron Lane in Auburn. Grand Secretary Ken Grant said, “We’re in hopes of using the home for a day care or battered women’s shelter.” A low-income day care facility would help both the local town while lending a hand to a big problem. Grant said, “It’s our place to be ready to assist those in need and what better way then seeing young parents and children have a safe environment?” Members invite the public to stop by any time or visit them on the Web at www.oddfellowsofmaine.com.
