YORK — Traffic is backed up on I-95 for the seven-mile stretch between the York toll plaza and the Maine-NH border due to several accidents caused by freezing rain.

According to a press release from the Maine Department of Public Safety, the New Hampshire Turnpike was closed at 10 a.m. because of “numerous accidents.”

Traffic conditions may not return to normal for several hours, according to police.
