David M. Bureau

AUBURN – David M. Bureau of Gorham, formerly of New Auburn, passed away peacefully at Androscoggin Home Hospice on July 11, 2023, surrounded by his immediate family.

David’s story is one of adversity. In 1983, David was the innocent victim of a careless driver. David, always tough as nails, miraculously cheated death and persevered with severe life-altering injuries. This journey was hard and remarkable in many ways. He finally succumbed to these injuries and it’s comforting to know that he can finally rest peacefully in heaven. He earned it!

Prior to his accident, David enjoyed athletics, especially ice hockey, live rock concerts, and just hanging out, having fun (raising hell at times) with his buddies.

The son of Marcel and Muriel Bureau of New Auburn, David was a graduate of Edward Little High School. He attended New England College and, at the time of his injuries, Central Maine Vocational Technical Institute where he was trained as an electrical program designer

David is survived by both parents, his brother (Dana), sister-in-law (Tanya) and a niece and a nephew (Adriana, Sebastien) of Holliston, Mass.

A visitation will be held for David on Thursday August 17, from 5-9 p.m., at Pinette Funeral Home, 305 Alfred Plourde Parkway, Lewiston. A Mass of Christian Burial honoring David’s life will be held at 10 a.m., on Friday August 18, at Sacred Heart Church in Auburn. Committal prayers to follow at his final resting place, St. Peters’ Cemetery Lewiston.
