Tyler Asselin, 30, scratches the chin of his dog, Meechy, while his other dog, Penny Lane, peeks out from behind Thursday. Asselin said he has been living in his car since June and has been parked at the David Rancourt Preserve in Lewiston for the last 10 days. He recently had to take a week off from work to be with his dogs full time while Penny was under quarantine for nipping at a child who startled the dog. The Lewiston native and former Leavitt Area High School student said he keeps himself busy at the preserve by picking up trash and collecting broken glass from the paths. Andree Kehn/Sun Journal
