Muhidin Libah of Lewiston harvests radishes Thursday at Liberation Farms in Wales. Libah is one of 45 farmers who collectively harvest vegetables on the farm for area farm markets and wholesale accounts. The majority of the farmers are natives of Somalia, but a few are from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Libah said. The Somali Bantu Community Association will open Liberation Farms to the public Sunday during Maine Open Farm Day. Visitors will be able to tour the farm, sample Somali food and visit the farm suuq (market) from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The farm is at 1002 Gardiner Road in Wales. Daryn Slover/Sun Journal
