DEAR SUN SPOTS: A committee is working on ways to celebrate the 50-year anniversary of the opening of Lewiston High School, which was Lewiston Comprehensive High School at the time. As part of the celebration, a question was raised as to whether a time capsule may have been placed in the building or grounds during construction. If anyone knows of one, or knows someone who would know, please notify Jon at jmsab23@aol.com. Thank you! — Jon Mennealy, Lewiston

ANSWER: Lewiston High School was founded in 1850 and has occupied its current building since 1973. A time capsule from that year would certainly be interesting. Please contact Jon if you have any information about this.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Can you tell me the day of Bob Bahre’s Classic Auto show in Paris Hill? I think it is July, and I want to attend it this year, to see his reputedly magnificent collection. Thanks! — No name, no town

ANSWER: Bob Bahre’s classic car collection will be open to the public during the annual Founder’s Day charity event from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 15, on Hannibal Hamlin Drive on Paris Hill in Paris. It will be held rain or shine. Bahre’s collection of more than 50 vehicles includes American classics such as Packards, Duesenbergs, Cadillac, Stutz, and Graham-Paige, as well as foreign classics such as Delahaye, Isotta Fraschini, Hispano-Suiza, Mercedes-Benz and Alfa-Romeo.

Founder’s Day is the major fundraiser for the Hamlin Memorial Library & Museum, which is next door to the birthplace of Abraham Lincoln’s first vice president, Hannibal Hamlin. The estate, now owned by Sandra Bahre, is where the car collection is housed. Admission to the car show is $10 for adults, and $2 for children ages 12 and under. All other activities — a craft fair, open house at the museum and a cornhole tournament — are free to attend.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: You are always so helpful. I saw a commercial about L0ri Voornas and Jeff Parsons packing a box to move to another place or radio station. For years they were on WJBQ 97.9, Portland’s No. 1 radio station. Where did they go? Now I hear it is “Krissy in the Morning.” She plays good music. When did Krissy start? — CG, Lewiston

ANSWER: According to radioinsight.com, WJBQ Portland morning hosts Jeff Parsons and Lori Voornas moved to 94.9 WHOM on May 15. Parsons had been part of WJBQ since the brand launched in November 1996 and had hosted mornings since 1998. Voornas joined the station and morning show in 1999. Their show was replaced by “Krissy in the Morning” on May 16.
