Special guest speaker U.S. Sen. Angus King tells a joke to graduates of Telstar High School’s class of 2023 during commencement Friday night in Bethel. King gave a speech titled “Ten things I wished somebody had told me when I was 18.” King gave the seniors some advice, telling them, “it’s your attitude not your aptitude that determines your altitude.” He also advised them to be there for their friends: “Love them and hold on to them and treat them how you want to be treated. It will make a big difference in your life.” Telstar graduated 38 students. Rose Lincoln/The Bethel Citizen
