We only had a handful of correct answers for last week’s Mystery Photo of the sign at the former Prospect Hill Golf Course on South Main Street in Auburn. The course was purchased in 2016 by Fang Cheng Morrow and business partner Nianping Wang. In 2018, Auburn Mayor Jason Levesque and Economic Development Director Michael Chammings were invited to China by Morrow, who paid for the trip, to visit with the two owners and other officials to look at mushroom-growing operations they wanted to bring to the golf course. They presented the city with a plan to build a 15-acre indoor-growing mushroom facility that would employ 150 people. The operation never got off the ground and the greens and fairways of the former golf course are now overgrown. In a random drawing from the correct entries, David Oshansky of Auburn was picked as the winner of a $20 Hannaford Supermarket gift card.
