DEAR SUN SPOTS: The clothing and thrift store in Leeds on Church Hill Road is expanding its hours. We will be open Saturday from 8:30 until 11 a.m. This summer we will also extend our hours to the first and third Thursday of the month. The hours will be from 4:30 until 7 p.m.

The funds raised support the food pantry and the needs of the community through Leeds Community Church.

Just to remind people, we have adult, children and baby clothes. We also have books, toys, kitchen items, costumes, seasonal decorations, blankets, sheets and lots more. The prices are reasonable so come check it out. — No name, no town

ANSWER: This is a cute little shop with lots going for it. I hope you will support them by donating items you no longer need and shopping there, too. Remember, it helps not only the community, but the entire planet when you thrift!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: There was a good rhubarb pie recipe in your column last year. It had eggs in it. I really need that recipe! — Johnnie, no town

ANSWER: This is my grandmother’s recipe. The eggs and flour hold the juicy rhubarb together nicely so the pie filling isn’t runny.

Corinne’s Rhubarb Pie: Preheat oven to 450 degrees. In a large bowl, beat 2 eggs then whisk in 2 tablespoons milk. Stir in 1 1/2 cups sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and/or 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg. Fold in rhubarb.

Spoon the illing into a prepared bottom crust, dot with butter, and place top crust, sealing edges and cutting vents for steam to escape. Bake for 15 minutes then reset oven to 350 degrees and bake for 45 minutes more, until filling is soft and bubbling and the crust is golden. This pie is best served at room temperature.  Leftovers should be refrigerated. Yield: 8 servings
