We are living in a very dangerous time.

The war in Ukraine was started in 2014 when the U.S. played a major role in overthrowing the democratically-elected president of Ukraine. U.S. military advisors and Central Intelligence Agency personnel were placed in Ukraine.

The U.S. helped place a massive amount of troops and military equipment along Russia’s border — long before Russia invaded Ukraine. Russia’s borders and security were extremely threatened. Russia was provoked.

This is a proxy war between the U.S. and Russia, with Ukraine — which is suffering horrifically — in the middle. Thousands of Ukrainian and Russian soldiers have died.

The U.S. is a major engine that keeps this war going. U.S. military corporations are making a “killing” from this war. People in Congress are getting richer.

The most dangerous thing is that as Sens. Angus King and Susan Collins, Reps. Jared Golden and Chellie Pingree, and President Biden have continued to send our tax dollars (over $100 billion sent) — which includes money toward weapons to Ukraine — they are getting us closer and closer to a likely nuclear war, during which all living things on Earth would be destroyed.

The U.S. needs to achieve a ceasefire with Russia as soon as possible, and the U.S. needs to start negotiations with compromises with Russia as soon as possible.
