CLERMONT, Fla. — The Bates College softball team took both ends of a doubleheader against MIT on Friday in Florida.

Cassidy Musco was 3 for 4 and scored twice as the Bobcats (3-2) beat the Vikings (3-13) in the second game, 9-1.

Rachel Liazos and Kama Boswell each added a pair of hits for the Bobcats.

Kennedy Jones and Grace Householter each had RBI singles in the fifth inning as Bates scored four times on its way to a 5-4 win in the opener.

MIT 15, BATES 9: Jake Sonandres hit a three-run home run as the Engineers (4-5) scored seven times in the bottom of the fourth inning and beat the Bobcats (7-3) in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Brandon Biggane was 2 for 4 with four RBIs, including a three-run home run for Bates. Tyler Attal had two hits, including a solo home run, and Christopher McGrail added two hits.

ST. JOSEPH’S 3, MAINE 2: Ryan Picollo hit an RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning as St. Joseph’s University beat the University of Maine in Merion Station, Pennsylvania.

Maine (7-11) tied the game in the top of the ninth inning on a solo home run by Myles Sargent.

Ryan Cesarini was 3 for 5 with an RBI for the Hawks.

Ryan Turenne had two singles for the Black Bears. Colin Fitzgerald allowed one run in six innings for Maine, on seven hits, three walks and three strike outs.
