HEBRON — Residents at this weekend’s annual Town Meeting will consider spending more than $136,000 in federal pandemic relief money for equipment and repairs to municipal buildings.

Saturday’s meeting begins at 10 a.m. at the Hebron Station School.

After first being asked to accept more than $154,579 from the town’s allotment of the American Rescue Plan, voters will be asked to support five articles to spend most of that money. The largest request is more than $51,000 toward buying a firetruck.

Other proposed projects funded by the federal allotment include $10,000 to repair municipal buildings, including the Moody Library, $15,000 to upgrade the Hebron Radio Communications System, $40,000 for public safety equipment and $20,ooo to upgrade the Town Office with phones, computers and software.

The overall municipal budget totals a little more than $1 million, nearly $80,000 more than last year. Much of the increase is due to adding a combined $45,000 to three reserve accounts.

Voters will consider electing a selectman to succeed Curtis Smith, who is retiring after four years on the board. Residents will also vote for a new library trustee and a budget committee member.

A total of 53 articles are on the warrant.
