Abortion was made legal in 1973 through Roe v. Wade so that women could be safe.
In 2020, in Maine, 2,370 babies lost their lives through abortion.
There is now a bill legislators are trying to pass, to make it OK to abort a full-term child, with the approval of a qualified medical professional. This is when a baby is viable; not only can they live outside the womb, they can feel pain. Ultrasounds show a baby can react to pain even inside the womb.
Polling has shown that over 65% of the public oppose late-term abortion. How far are we willing for Maine to go? Who will be next — the sick or elderly?
People should contact their Maine lawmakers in Augusta and tell them to vote no on this legislation.
