BANGOR — A Veterans and Family Indoor Expo is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Anah Shriners, 1404 Broadway.
The Veterans Benefits Administration, Togus Regional Office and Veterans Health Administration, VA Maine Healthcare System are teaming up to provide veterans and their family members information about the Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics (PACT) Act, according to a news release from John Brinzow, program specialist with the Togus Regional Benefits Office.
State and community organizations will share information about the myriad of resources available to veterans, service members and their families. Veterans Service Organizations will also be onsite.
During this free, family friendly event, veterans will not only be able to file disability claims, enroll in healthcare, and receive toxic exposure screenings, but they will be able to obtain hunting and fishing licenses from the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, state park passes from Maine Bureau of Veterans’ Services, national park passes from National Park Service, and more from the 20-plus other organizations joining.
Attendees can also receive a free lunch from Operation at Ease, win free door prizes, and hear music from different local groups. Children can experience an inflatable obstacle course, courtesy of the Maine National Guard.
The event is sponsored by the Masons, Bethlehem Lodge No. 35.
