To the Editor:
A big thank you to all who have made this year a success for Christmas for Families. We wish there was a better way to say it, but just know that every gift helped to make Christmas for Families able to help so many.
To all the community and visitors who donated cash, gifts, and homemade items. We were able to help 42 families, 130 children, parents, and some pets. Some folks that we have helped in the past have paid it forward by helping, too.
A special thank you to Maine Street Realty and Tax Loft for allowing us to use their offices for a drop-off point. We thank Brooks Brothers and Le Mu Eats for the fundraisers that they did for Christmas for Families. We also thank the Sunday River Community (Bob Rogowsky) who made many trips to deliver gifts, and the Oxford Chapter of United Bikers of Maine for all their wonderful gifts. We wish we could name everyone who has helped. Each gift, large and small, is such a joy.
It always amazes us when someone asks for something special, and we try to get it – the next day it often shows up as a donation! It just feels like someone is watching and helping us along the way. Know that your gift makes a difference!
