LEWISTON — A free occupational therapy clinic operated by University of Southern Maine students and faculty is reopening following more than two years of pandemic-related closure.

The community clinic is scheduled to hold a grand reopening ceremony from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, on the Lewiston Campus.

Occupational therapy students and faculty will be available for interviews.

The clinic operates free of charge to the community. Clients come to the clinic strictly through referrals from local agencies.

“We’re working to be a resource to the Lewiston-Auburn community,” said Robina O’Rourke, the community clinic coordinator, according to a news release from USM. “Meanwhile, our students are gaining practical real-world experience in both helping people and running a clinic.”
