The organization's newest play, "If Not Us, Then Who?," was in part written and produced by inmates at the Mountain View Correctional Facility and features storylines based on the participant's lived experiences.
Bruce King, co-executive director of Maine Inside Out, adjusts his laptop Wednesday in the Lisbon Street office before a live screening of the organization’s newest play, “If Not Us, Then Who?,” which premiered at the Mountain View Correctional Facility in Charleston. The group worked with prison inmates to write and produce the play which features storylines based on the participants’ lived experiences. The performance was followed by a facilitated group discussion, both at the prison and the live screening event in Lewiston. Maine Inside Out also works with Lewiston Middle School students and will hold a public performance in December. Andree Kehn/Sun Journal
