I recently received a mailer from a group in Florida urging me to thank my current representative to the Maine Legislature for his leadership in fighting for U.S. congressional term limits, an issue over which our state Legislature has no control.
Why on Earth should I vote for a person to supposedly “represent” me, just because someone in Florida likes his position on an issue that is totally unrelated to his work in the Maine Legislature?
No, thank you.
I hope people in House District 96 will instead join me in voting for Mike Lajoie.
Mike would listen to his constituents here in Lewiston, and he would focus on issues that benefit Mainers and are actually addressed in the state Legislature.
Elaine Makas, Lewiston
