In his two terms in Congress, Rep. Jared Golden has staked out a position as a maverick. He doesn’t vote a straight party line, so whatever people’s political orientation, it’s likely they’ve disagreed with one or more of his votes.

But there is, without question, a consistent theme to his work — he always tries to enact tangible improvements to the lives of the people of Maine.

His opposition? Not so much. Bruce Poliquin was one of the least active, most party-line voters during his time in Congress. We have no reason to think he will be any different this time around.

So while I may disagree with some of Golden’s votes, I recognize that Maine gets a much better deal having him working hard for us in Washington.

His heart is in the right place, he does listen, and we can count on him giving 100% in pursuing our interests.
