DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Lisbon Falls Church of the Nazarene will host a Harvest Party at 5 p.m. Oct. 29. We will have food, games and a hayride. Everyone is invited and it is free of charge. It will be “spooktacular” fun. The church is at 184 Main St. in Lisbon Falls and the phone number is 353-2572. We will have plenty of candy! — Laural, Lisbon

ANSWER: That does sound fun! I love that you’re having a hayride. Many of us in Sun Spots Land remember participating in hayrides when we were children. It really is good, old-fashioned fun, something we don’t get enough of these days.

DEAR SUNSPOTS: Once again, the Paris Public Library at 37 Market Square in South Paris is conducting a Hat and Mitten Drive for Christmas for Kids. Your talents, time and unsurpassed generosity in the past have kept our children’s heads and hands warm during our prolonged and cold Maine winters. If you knit or crochet, we will once again greatly value your handmade contributions. We are also delighted and thankful for purchased items.

A collection box for your contributions will be available beginning on Nov. 1 at our library. If you need yarn, please feel free to ask a librarian. We send our infinite and sincere thanks to all contributors in advance. — Billie, South Paris

DEAR SUN SPOTS: This is for the individual who was looking to donate hats and mittens to people. You may check with the local schools. The elementary schools have taken donations for the children who are in need. — Brenda, no town

ANSWER: See how Sun Spots works? A reader sent in her letter with a desire to knit winter hats and mittens for an organization (Oct. 12 Sun Spots) then these two answers appeared.

If you would like to knit for little ones, some local child care centers may also like some hats and mittens to have on hand. Small children get cold and soggy in the winter weather pretty quickly so extra outdoor wear is always useful.

I’d like to add that librarians have such a wealth of information at their disposal. If you haven’t already, make it a point to develop a good relationship with the librarians in your community. You will be amazed with their superpowers!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I was just wondering if you have the name(s) of the owner(s) of the Furniture Superstore in Lisbon in your Rolodex. Are they the two gentlemen who appear in the store’s TV ads?

I enjoy your column. Keep up the good work. — Dave, Auburn

ANSWER: Yes, the people who are in the commercial for the Furniture Superstore in Lisbon and South Portland, are members of the Abrams family, who own the stores.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: For the reader looking for Medicare Advantage advice, AARP really helped me when I was shopping around for my health insurance plan. Go to https://www.aarpmedicareplans.com/. I was able to review the online information and talk with an agent at my convenience. I’m happy with my coverage through United Healthcare. — No name, Auburn
