As a father and grandfather, I’m concerned with parents’ rights and the effort to wrestle stewardship of our children away from us.
Many schools now try to teach our children what to think, not how to think. For example, philosophies based on the color of a person’s skin without regard to the content of their character are the antithesis of Martin Luther King’s legacy.
Former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe stated, “I don’t think parents should be telling schools what they should teach.” That cost him and his party that state, and emboldened a nationwide movement of concerned parents. If others feel as they do, I hope they vote for Jim Sorcek for Maine House representative in District 88. He’s staked his candidacy on kitchen table issues with parents’ rights leading the way.
This November, let’s tell them, “They’re our children, not yours.”
