The Maine Forest Service, Farmington Conservation Commission, the University of Maine Cooperative Extension and the Small Woodland Owners of Maine are holding a Big Tree Contest in Franklin County. To nominate a tree, email Patty Cormier at patty.cormier@maine.gov, or phone 592-2238 or Peter Tracy at tracypf tdstelme.net. Each winner will receive their choice of a woodlot visit from the local Maine Forest Service district forester, a visit from the local extension professional or a gift from the Small Woodland Owners Association of Maine (T-shirt or one-year complimentary membership).
