AREA — Sebago-Long Lake Music Festival (SLLMF) awarded a $200 prize to its 50th Anniversary Poster Design winner. Caroline Sheets, a senior at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School, was this year’s winner. Virginia Valdes, the Graphic Design instructor, has been working with SLLMF and this project with her students for 17 years. The poster design is incorporated into a brochure to promote the Festival and a program booklet distributed at the five concerts at Deertrees Theatre in Harrison, Maine.

Deertrees has been SLLMF’s home for the past 30 years. This year’s concerts will be on Tuesday evenings at 7:30 from July 12 to August 9. For more information about the concerts and artists, go to https://sebagomusicfestival.org/2022-season/.

In addition, Sebago-Long Lake Music Festival has a tradition of bringing performances to the community for people new to chamber music or unable to access it easily. This year, there are 14 outreach performances, eight community concerts in western and coastal Maine, and six repeat concerts in Maine, New Hampshire, and Connecticut. Community concerts are usually shorter performances and are generally free, by donation only. Costs are partially covered by sponsorships. Repeat programs are full concerts and are usually ticketed events. All this season’s performances are listed on the website at https://sebagomusicfestival.org/community-concerts/.
