NORWAY — Shauna Martin was recently promoted to agency scheduling specialist at The Progress Center. For the past five years, she has been a direct support professional.

“It was fun and adventurous,” Martin said. “Working side-by-side with the individuals for five years was a humbling experience.”

She started out in home supports for a brief time before transferring over to working in community supports.

The Progress Center said that while Martin enjoyed her work as a direct support professional, she knew she wanted to grow professionally within the organization. “I thought this position would be a great stepping stone and eventually would like to work my way higher into the agency, ” Martin said.

Martin started her new position as the agency scheduling specialist in May. “I have never had an office position so it’s a big change working in a cubicle versus working direct care. I am learning new things about the company and the processes of the way things are done.”
