PARIS — The Paris Public Library’s annual used book sale begins Saturday, July 23, and continues on Saturday, July 30, with a bag sale on Saturday, Aug. 6.

The sale will again be in the Old Paris Farmers’ Union building, at the corner of Main Street (Route 26) and Skilling Avenue in South Paris, and will run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on all three days.

Proceeds from the book sale are used to purchase children’s books for the library’s collection. Last year’s sale raised more than $2,800.

In addition, this year will feature a special sale of hundreds of extra VHS tapes, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 13. The tapes range from Disney classics to documentaries.

Donations for the sale are always welcome, and are collected year-round. Contributions may be dropped off at the library whenever it is open, or arrangements may be made for books to be picked up.

On the regular sale dates, hardcover books sell for $1 each, trade paperbacks cost 50 cents and the price for mass market paperbacks is 25 cents. During the bag sale, a standard plastic grocery bag may be filled for $1 each. The VHS tapes will sell for $1.
