BRUNSWICK — Bowdoin College held its 206th commencement exercises May 28. The following local students were among the graduates.

Moriah Churchill, of Auburn, majoring in English and minoring in visual arts.

Sara Powers, of Auburn, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, majoring in French and neuroscience and minoring in chemistry.

Amanda Nguyen, of Winthrop, majoring in biology and minoring in education studies.

Samuel Landis, of Oquossoc, graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, majoring in German and earth and oceanographic science.

Shem Dixon, of Avon, majoring in biology and minoring in earth and oceanographic science.

Bachelor of arts degrees were awarded to 440 students from 38 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, and 10 foreign countries.
