FARMINGTON — The Mt. Blue High School Syncopations and Jazz Band will perform a joint concert at 7 p.m. Friday, June 3, in the Nordica Auditorium on the University of Maine campus. This concert will be the culmination of the ensembles’ rehearsals and performances throughout this past school year.

The Syncopations, under the direction of Carol Shumway and accompanied by Patricia Hayden, most recently performed with the National Women’s Honor Choir in the famed Carnegie Hall, New York City. The Syncopations have also performed for local organizations and school concerts. Members of the Syncopations are Alex Allen, Alexaiya Backman, Jessica Baxter, Gwen Beacham, Rosie Cohen, Megan Collins, Kerri Cooper, Ivy Enoch, Laurel Fraley, Emily Kerr, Paige Kincaid, Astra Pierson, Emily Rice, Katie Rice, Marissa Swain, Miranda Voter and Kristyn Wiles.

The Mt. Blue Jazz Band, under the direction of Karen Beacham, had an active year participating in the District 4 and Maine State Jazz Festivals, as well as local concerts. The jazz band plans to hold its annual Al Corey Autumn Dance again this fall. Members of the Jazz Band are Amber Cusson, Miranda Voter, Noah LePage, Ashlie Hardy, Taylor Harris, Kevin Foley, Morgan Spencer, Matt West, Brendan Hickey, Sophia Bunnell, Miles Brooks, Scott Storer, Brittany Holden, Jordan Williams, Kjell Nordstrom, Gwen Beacham, Kyrie Harnden, Peter Coleman, Seth Wegner, John Correll, Eli Cohen and Steven Yardley.
