AUBURN — The Central Maine Community College class of 2011 that marched in commencement was the largest and most diverse in the college’s 47-year history. Women accounted for 55 percent of the almost 600 students who earned associate degrees, certificates or diplomas from a college that was predominantly male for decades. More than eight percent of the graduates are from minority groups, and eight states other than Maine were represented. The number of graduates this year exceeded last year’s total of 392 by almost 200.
