DIXFIELD — Hayden Fletcher hit a pair of home runs to help Monmouth to a 12-7 MVC baseball win over Dirigo on Tuesday afternoon.

Matt Marquis and Manny Calder both tallied a pair of hits for the Mustangs (5-0), while Seth McKenney had three hits, including a double. Sam Calder earned the victory on the mound.

“It was a good win,” Monmouth coach Eric Palleschi said. “Sam pitched well. It took us a while to get going offensively but we got some runs in bunches. (Dirigo) did a good job, too. They hit the ball, especially at the end. It was just another good win.”

Curtis Errington and Wyatt Smith both had a pair of hits for Dirigo (2-2), while Charlie Houghton took the loss on the mound.

MT. ABRAM 11, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 0 (5 INN.): A couple of big middle innings for the Roadrunners (4-0) were the difference in their victory over the Falcons (0-5) in Salem.

Mt. Abram scored seven runs in the third inning and then added four in the fourth to pull away from Mountain Valley.

Tucker Plouffe and Cam Grey notched two hits apiece, including both players hitting a double for the Roadrunners. Trevor Phelps struck out nine batters in four innings without giving up a hit.

Jonah Byam had the lone hit for the Falcons, off Mt. Abram reliever Wyatt Siemenski in the fifth.

MOUNTAIN VALLEY 9, MT. ABRAM 8: The Falcons (2-4) sealed their victory late over the Roadrunners (0-4) in Salem.

Ali Mazza hit a single and a double in the win for Mountain Valley, which took a 7-5 lead in the fourth inning and tacked on two more in the seventh to secure the win.

Ali Legere earned the win in the circle for the Falcons.

Mt. Abram’s Abi Wilcox, Josey Arms and Liv Roderick all notched a pair of hits. Adrianna Stinchfield hit a double and struck out eight batters.

MONMOUTH 6, DIRIGO 0: Shanna Parsons had two hits, including a double, and three RBIs in the Mustangs’ (4-0) win over the Cougars (2-2) in Dixfield.

Katie Laliberte and Brooklyn Federico each had two hits in the win.

Federico pitched seven innings of shutout ball, striking out 12 and allowing two hits.

Emma MacFarlane and Abby Stevens had singles for Dirigo.

GIRLS LACROSSE
MT. BLUE 7, ERSKINE ACADEMY 4: Alissa Butterfield and Eryn Parlin each scored two goals to lead the Cougars to a win over the Eagles in Farmington.

Chloe Roberts, Talia Kidder and Maya Kellett added goals for Mt. Blue (2-2).

Sarah Praul scored all four goals for Erskine (2-4).
