Rudolph “Rudy” Horowitz is a Holocaust survivor, author, architect and grandfather of students in Regional School Unit 16, a consolidated school district serving Poland, Mechanic Falls and Minot.
His book, “Avoiding the Cracks,” was written as a series of letters addressed to his grandchildren. The book explains how his family from Poland was able to beat the odds and survive the Holocaust.
Rudy visited Whittier Middle School in Poland on April 8 and shared his story with eighth graders.
