Frank Hayden Piper

LEWISTON – Frank Hayden Piper, 86, passed away on March 2, 2022 at Marshwood Nursing Home. He was born in Mechanic Falls on August 16, 1935, son of the late Annette Piper Clifford and Frank Henry Piper. He attended schools in Auburn and graduated from Mechanic Falls High School in 1953. He served in the Marines from 1956 until 1962. Frank married Velora Perry on June 17, 1960 and they were together for 62 years. He was employed by the local Paper Mill, did road construction in the building of Maine and New Hampshire interstate systems, J W Penny and retired from Auburn Mfg in 2009 after 20 years. Frank enjoyed traveling around the country with his wife, brother Carroll and his wife Dixie. They traveled miles. He loved skiing and was a member of the National Ski Patrol at Sunday River. He also enjoyed golf, hunting and most of all, spending time with family. He was also a member of Tyrian Lodge #73.Frank is survived by his wife Velora, daughter Darlene Boyd and husband Jeff, brother Robert Clifford and wife Lori, granddaughters Amanda Emery and husband Anthony, Allison Bennett and husband Kevin, great grandchildren Alex and Adriene Emery, Lilliana and Nora Bennett. Special and dear friend Rose Emery. Several nieces and nephews, Karen Piper, John Piper, Valerie Leonard, Jeffrey Keene, Daniel Piper and Crysta Clifford. He was predeceased by his daughter Doreen, brothers Francis and Carroll and sister Evelyn Piper Keene. A graveside service will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery in Mechanic Falls on June 4 at 1pm. Arrangements are under the care of Chandler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 26 West Dwinal Street, Mechanic Falls.
