LEWISTON — The Great Falls Forum lecture series will present Tim Honey, internationalist, consultant, and former Portland City Manager speaking on “Pre- and Post-Apartheid South Africa: a 50-year Journey of Engagement,” from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, May 19, in Callahan Hall at the Lewiston Public Library, 200 Lisbon St. A question-and-answer session will follow. Bill Green
MECHANIC FALLS — Bill Green, host of Bill Green’s Maine on WCSH Channel 6, will give a talk on Maine, the Civil War and Joshua Chamberlain at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 19, at the Mechanic Falls Historical Society, 64 Elm St. There is no admission charge but donations to the society will be welcomed. Refreshments will be available.
Texas hold ’em
MECHANIC FALLS — American Legion Post 150 will hold a Texas hold ’em tournament at 6 p.m. Friday, May 20, at the Legion hall on Elm Street.
$30 buy-in. Payout depends on how many players. 100-player limit. Food will be on sale.
