The Auburn-Lewiston Municipal Airport has named James H. Scheller as its new manager, according to a statement from the airport’s board.
Scheller’s responsibilities include strengthening operations, developing business opportunities, and ensuring excellence in service to pilots, passengers, visitors and tenants.
Scheller, who began his new position Jan. 14, brings 12 years of commercial airport business experience, most recently in Texas serving as the landside operations supervisor for the Houston Airport System’s Houston Hobby Airport.
Prior to that position, he served in Florida as properties/advertising administrator for the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport, where he assisted the Properties Department in generating streams of revenue, and creating partnerships with the local community.
Scheller retired from the U.S. Marine Corps as a captain. His 26 years of military service was in the area of aircraft maintenance, as well as aircrew/aircraft life support systems.
“I look forward to working with stakeholders and community organizations to increase the utilization of the Auburn-Lewiston Airport,” Scheller said. “I am excited to be a vital part of the Auburn-Lewiston community in the capacity of its airport manager. With the support of the board and community leaders, together we can continue the development and continued success of the airport.”
